    Powder River Energy Corporation (PRECorp) was formed in 1997 when Tri-County Electric and Sheridan-Johnson Rural Electric Association merged.These had been operating since 1945. Today, PRECorp has over 11,772 members and approximately 30,311 meters served over 10,263 miles of distribution line with a density of 2.7 meters per mile.

    PRECorp's service territoryis over 16,200 square miles. The service area includes the majority of northeast Wyoming. Counties include Campbell, Crook, Johnson, Sheridan, ans Weston. PRECORP employs 152 people. The corporate headquarters are in Sundance, Wyoming.
